🌟 NEW FEATURE: Brit European Alumni Spotlight 🌟
We’re excited to launch a new feature celebrating our past employees and finding out what they’re up to now in retirement. Brit European has always been about people, and we’re proud of the many colleagues who have been part of our journey over the years.
First up is Pat Harrison, who retired in 2017.
In 2017, we said a fond farewell to Pat as she headed off to enjoy a very well-earned retirement — and she hasn’t looked back since.
Pat says one of the best parts of retired life is not having to get up for work in the mornings… and we can’t say we blame her! 😊
These days, Pat enjoys spending time at her family caravan near Shrewsbury, where she can relax and unwind. Pat also has a little dog who has very much become “the baby” of the family.
Looking back on her time with us, Pat says she thoroughly enjoyed her years at Brit European and saw many changes along the way. She held several different roles and worked at quite a few desks over the years — which certainly kept things interesting.
Pat’s journey began raising invoices for the Trailer Department when the company was still known as Carmen’s. She then moved into the Tanker Department and Drawbars, also under the Carmen’s name.
When the company relocated to Radway Green and became Brit European, Pat continued her invoicing work in the Accounts Department, covering Tankers, Seafreight and Brit Drive.
On a sad note, during her time at Brit European, Pat experienced the passing of Jean and Ron Carman — a significant and emotional time for everyone who knew them. More recently, Pat has also sadly lost her best friend, Jane Eaton, who many of us will remember as part of the Brit European family.
From Carmen’s to Brit European, Pat was part of an important chapter in our history — and we’re so pleased to hear she’s enjoying this next chapter of her life.
Enjoy your retirement, Pat — you’ve truly earned it 💙
