In June 2014 Brit European invested in an additional four new multi-compartment fuel tankers. The new equipment is capable of carrying approximately 42,000 litres of fuel and each tank is fitted with the latest Gardner Denver Pluto pump. RTN/Lakeland of Barnsley supplied the tanks.

‘Operating in such a volatile market and one where safety is of paramount importance we had to ensure that the equipment we were investing in was the most up to date available’ explains Group Managing Director Graham Lackey.

Based at Ellesmere Port in Cheshire Brit European describes itself as a second tier supplier with first tier credentials. All drivers employed in the Fuel Distribution Division now have the Petroleum Drivers Passport (PDP) as mandatory.

‘At Brit European we are committed to the highest safety standards’ said Graham. ‘The health, safety and welfare of our employees, and those affected by our undertakings, is an integral part of our business performance, and compliance with legal requirements is regarded as the minimum standard to be achieved at all times’ added Graham.

‘Over the next 12 – 24 months we intend to grow the fleet in support of new and existing customers. We have the capabilities, facilities and expertise to meet the specific needs of the fuel market’ concluded Graham.
